Acupuncture – Can it help pain?

Acupuncture – Can it help pain?

We often think of acupuncture for pain. Here we look at how acupuncture can help relieve pain.

Chinese medicine teaches that energy moves through your body in pathways. When these pathways are blocked, you can have pain. If the energy is unblocked, the pain goes away.

I know a woman who fell a few years ago and needed to have her head stitched up. While there, they did an xray. The doctor asked her daughter – How long has your mother had this back pain? She said – 20 minutes. The doctor said – No, how long has she had this bad back pain from her arthritis. She again said – 20 minutes. Just because you have arthritis doesn’t mean that you have to have pain. Acupuncture helps to keep those pathways moving, which helps get rid of pain.

Acupuncture helps to relieve pain. Arthritis pain might take a few more treatments to help than muscular pain, but all pain can be expected to be reduced with acupuncture treatments.

I find it interesting that not only can acupuncture help physical pain, but it can also help emotional pain. Research is clear that acupuncture can help back pain and knee pain – just wait until the western research catches up with Chinese medicine!
