It happens like clockwork – clockwork and acupuncture

Everyone probably knows somebody who wakes up at a particular time of the night and they know even without looking what time it is. Their bodies wake them up at 2am or 3:30am. Or they get particularly tired at 2:30 in the afternoon.

What about you? Do you have anything the occurs ‘like clockwork’  the same time (or close to it) almost every day? And what could it mean?

In Chinese medicine, we talk about energy moving through pathways, or meridians. There are 12 regular meridians in the body. There are 24 hours in a day. We know that energy moves through all of the meridians all of the time, but we also say that the energy peaks in each meridian for 2 hours every day, sort of like a high tide.

What does this mean for you? It’s simple, really. If you notice things that happen to you ‘like clockwork,’ the issue may be related to Chinese medicine. It may help to get some acupuncture to balance that part of the moving tide in your body.
